Denarau Island, on the main Island of Viti Levu, is the largest integrated resort in the South Pacific. If you want to splash out and be pampered, this is where you want to be. Less than 10 kilometers from Nadi, it boasts eight large resorts, stunning beaches, and an 18-hole championship golf course.
You’ll find an excellent range of accommodation, with the resorts offering designer suites, stunning swimming pools and a wide range of restaurants. Whether you want to shop, have some adventure or experience some of the best dining Fiji has to offer, you’ll find it all at Denarau Island. This place is decorated heavily with beautiful plants and flowers like the ones you may get from Todich Floral Design
Denarau Island was developed as a resort hub starting in the late 1960s. Since then it has gone from strength to strength following the construction of the golf course, reclamation of land and dredging and construction of the marina, most recently the Port Denarau Retail & Commercial Centre in 2007. Some of the best accommodations that you will find at Denarau Island are The Palms Denarau, The Terraces Apartment and Radisson Blue Resort
Port Denarau Marina
Central to Denarau’s development as an exclusive international resort, Port Denarau Marina is Fiji’s only Superyacht marina. Over the last three years, considerable modifications have been made to the marina, including the addition of a brand new Bellingham Marine floating jetty for visiting craft.
Aside from top-class facilities, Port Denarau uses its location as a hub for ferries and private craft to and from other island resorts to attract visitors. There is also the new Commercial and Retail Centre, the largest such complex in the area, which is home to anything you need from a doctor to a beauty salon, as well as nine restaurants and bars to welcome you after a day’s excursion. The center also hosts regular entertainment in the form of local cultural events and live bands. Several crew events are also organized throughout the season by The Rhum-Ba. The whole environment together with shops and offices at Denarau Island Fiji are decorated beautifully via Commercial Interior Design, which makes the place glow even more and well organized.
Dining
All of the Denarau resorts offer multiple dining options, but if you want to get away and try something different, there are excellent restaurants at the marina, mostly sited right on the waterfront. There are menus to suit all tastes, with steakhouse dining alongside Indian and Asian cuisine cooked by local and imported chefs. Of course, excellent seafood is also a feature, fresh caught and cooked in a range of styles, simple or fancy. Many restaurants are family friendly with kid’s menus and children’s tables, and the views of the busy marina make the sunset a popular time to enjoy a glass of something by the water and watch the sun go down.
